Get Your Ducks in a Row

I have been so scatterbrained lately. I've got my full-time day job, my full-time sweatshop trying to get my line off the ground, a couple of big projects and then trying to have a normal balanced personal life on top of all that, no wonder I'm exhausted and having trouble focusing. I've got to get my ducks in a row and start prioritizing otherwise nothing will get done. Battle plan starts tonight with a full night of sleep haha.

Goodnight my ducklings!

The Myth About Ostriches

Did you know that ostriches don't actually bury their heads in the sand? I just learned this fact and found it quite interesting. It only looks like they bury their heads in the sand because when they are not able to run from danger (they are very fast by the way), they flop to the ground and lay still. The color of their head blends in with the sand. I also learned that ostriches are farmed for their feathers and the feathers are collected during the molting season only and then the birds are released unharmed. That makes me feel better. You all know how much I love wearing feathers!

People have teased me about how I should have been a chicken because I love feathers so much,  but Brad Pitt said it best...Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken. hahaha

Hello Buttercup!

Who says you can't wear leather in the summertime? Leather is making an appearance year round and in the spring/summer, leather is coming in bright vibrant colors or pretty pastels. I paired my buttery yellow jacket with a floral watercolor dress and bright teal platform sandals. Can you tell I love color?

It's not the weather, hand me my leather.

Le Make Up Artiste

Make up is an important field in any creative industry. Fashion, film, theater, art....but I barely know the basics of how to apply my own makeup. haha. My friend bought me some fancy eye brushes from the convention in Vegas and I had no idea how to use them until she taught me how. But I figured, since I am in the fashion industry I should probably learn more about makeup or surround myself with talented people who know what they're doing. There are 2 ladies in particular who come to mind.  I had the pleasure of meeting Veronica Munoz and Sarah Morales a couple of months ago while they were working on a pilot with my husband. Their specialities range from beauty, fantasy, injury, special effects and prosthetics. And let me just say their talents have no bounds.  I was blown away by their work and highly recommend them to anyone.

Thank you for sharing your talent ladies!

What's Your "S" Factor?

Saturday was National Dance Day and I was lucky to celebrate it at Sheila Kelly's S Factor in Los Angeles with a special strip tease/lap dance extravaganza. I used to take classes regularly and I was level 2 so I was just beginning to learn some awesome pole tricks. Unfortunately, I had to stop and Saturday night just reminded me how much I missed it.  Besides being a really fun and awesome workout, S factor is a very freeing experience. Every woman has a different journey and it's about discovering your own sensuality, being comfortable with your own body and relishing in things that make you feel beautiful.  To find out more visit their website http://www.sfactor.com  I highly recommend taking an intro class.

Black and Blue

I am a giant clutz.  I'm always bumping into things and tripping over everything including my own feet.  I have so many bruises I can't account for haha. Last night, I went to an event at work and while I was there, ran into a cement block and cut my leg. It's all black and blue at the moment.  But not even that could have stopped me from wearing my new dress.  It was a birthday present from my friend.  I've been lusting after this Thakoon Addition dress since I first saw it .  I love the color combo, the embroidery and the contrast of the lace paired with the leather. I just wish I didn't have the matching black and blue bruises on my leg haha.

Have a safe evening everyone!
